Drink cool waters from thy right hand;
make the posture of a Hamadryas,
& praise the Unspeakably Pure.

I will offer up the praise of my heart, as I pray to the ends of the universe and the origin of beginnings, to the holy goal of human quest; O immortal discovery, begetter of light and truth, sower of reason, love of immortal life. No hidden word can or will be able to speak about you, my God. Therefore, hear my mind in its yearning to sing a daily hymn. I am the instrument of your spirit, and noetic is your plectrum; behold how your counsel plucks me. I see myself! I have received power from you. For your love has reached us. By Grace! Hear me sing this hymn of thanksgiving. For I have received life from you, when you made me wise. I praise you. I call your name that is hidden within me!

“The whole of God's name also includes meaning and spirit and air and everything at once that is in them or through them or from them; no, I cannot hope to name the maker of all majesty, the begetter and master of everything, with a single name, even a name composed of many names; Divinity is nameless or rather all-named since God is one and all, so that one must call all things by God’s name or call Divinity by the names of everything... Thus having worshiped your unalterable good in unspoken songs, we ask only one favor: that you might will that we will be preserved in your knowledge; and one protection: that we not fall away from a life such as this. Hoúto tòn soû agathòn proskunḗsantes, mēdemían hēytḗsamen khárin plḕn: thelēson hēmâs diatērēthênai en têy sêy gnôsei; mía dè tḗrēsis: tò mḕ sphalênai toû toioútou bíou toútou.”
