The Red Rite consists of those looking for an experience above all; achieved through concentration training and intensity of effort, emphasis is placed on the efficacy of chant to facilitate visions and trance. Aside from extended periods of meditation and candle scrying, certain techniques enshrined within Buddhism and Hellenic philosophy are studied to help the aspirant reign in the chatter of their habitual mind.Β
Pragmatically, regarding what is being chanted, the order specializes in vocalizing vowels and cypher speech; subsequent to the acquisition of these fundamentals, members are initiated into the Perpetual Thunder which emanates from the names of the seven archangels.Β
Since long periods of undisturbed solitude are necessary for masterful practice of chant and attainment of vision, this order may be quite difficult for those with any kind of regular obligation. While we don't require specific oaths for a consecrated lifestyle, our ideal is as close to eremitical as possible while engaged in these rites.
Those who choose this path serve as kindlers and keepers of the holy fire, for both their personal devotions and the guild at large. Formal assemblies are occasionally held for rituals of convocation, but otherwise members are asked to maintain both silence and secrecy regarding their practice: only fear or doubt would be inspired by sharing unknown mutterings, doing such likewise undercuts concentration and may seed interpersonal controversy.Β
